Term 2 has seen Cycle 3 students learning how to play T-Ball — a modified version of baseball. Students practised catching with a baseball mitt in their non-preferred hand, throwing with their dominant hand, fielding ground balls, running to the safety of the bases, and striking the baseball from the tee. After learning these essential T-Ball skills, all five Cycle 3 classes played a game. I was impressed by how the students developed their T-Ball skills, and I was so proud of how they all participated in this unit, took on new challenges, supported each other to do their best and had fun together.
You can find out more about your child’s T-Ball experience by asking them what hand they catch with, what was their favourite fielding position, how do you score a run, why the batting order is important, and how you can go ‘out’ in T-Ball.
During the final two weeks of Term 2, Cycle 3 students will take part in a gymnastics incursion.
