Nar Nar Goon Crafts and Garden Fundraiser
19/06/2023
Nar Nar Goon students will hold a crafts and gardening fundraiser on Wednesday, 21 June at 3.15 pm at the front gate to raise money for a class sewing machine. We are selling bookmarks, wheat bags, scrunchies, worm wee for gardeners, felt cupcake fridge magnets and some colourful handmade brooches.
Mary and Nar Nar Goon students have made these items during mindful crafts and at lunchtimes and we would certainly welcome your support. Come along and find a crafty gift for yourself or a loved one.
Kind regards,
Ava
Mother’s Day Gift Making
22/05/2023
Years 4 and 5 students in Nar Nar Goon were very busy making gifts for Mother’s Day during Mindful Craft time.
They produced very cute and very well-made wheatbag warmers and cupcake brooches and magnets from felt. Each child took their time to produce something useful, meaningful and beautiful.
Judging by their beaming faces they were all very happy with their efforts.
The Royal Fundraiser
27/03/2023
On Friday, 5 May the Nar Nar Goon classroom will do something special.
We might be the youngest, but we are also the smartest. We think that now is the right opportunity to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital. That’s why we have organised a fundraiser including food, drinks, games, and more fun stuff!! $5 or $10 is enough to be part of the fun. Thank you.
Ellie, Evie and Luna.
Nar Nar Goon News (Cooking & Languages)

Cooking by Brady and Daniel
On Thursday, 16 February, Nar Nar Goon cooking group #2 made some delicious vegetarian fried rice!
The cooking group members were Luke, Fox and Brady and they did most of the cooking, with a little help from Mary.
The ingredients they used were:
rice, zucchini, mushroom, cabbage, peas and chives.
The whole class loved the fried rice and people were asking for seconds, but sadly, there was only enough rice for one serve each.
Interviews
Mietta: “I really liked the fried rice but I wish there was seconds.”
Adelaide: “I don’t like vegetables but I liked the vegetables in the fried rice.”
Year 6 Languages by Mietta and Pearl
Year 6 students had a choice of learning Italian, French and Mandarin and they are learning them with the Cycle 4 students. Overall, we are doing three hours of our chosen language each week.
Mandarin
In Mandarin we have been learning words, sign language and the basics of the language.
French
In French we have been learning how to introduce ourselves, how to count to 13, how to express how we are feeling – our emotions. We are also learning he/she pronouns and how words change depending on whether they are male or female.
Adelaide: “Fabienne is an incredible teacher. She taught us a lot in the first five days of learning French”.
Daniel: “Our French teacher, Fabienne, is really nice and is a very knowledgeable person.”
Italian
In Italian we have been learning about the regions and cities of Italy and how to start a basic conversation.
James: “We’re learning with the Cycle 4s. It’s not too challenging, but it’s still a challenge and we also get homework.”
