MMS Brighton and Caulfield campuses will be holding a donation drive for St Kilda Mums for two weeks during each term this year. The dates for the Term 4 collection are: Wednesday 6 November – Friday 15 November. This is the final collection for 2019 and also the Christmas Collection.
St Kilda Mums is a charity that re-homes pre-loved nursery goods to support Victorian families in need. They collect, sort and redistribute essential nursery equipment, clothing, books and toys for babies and school age children.
Parents and children are asked to donate good quality baby and children (up to size 12) items. St Kilda Mums provide these goods to families as gifts, and therefore we ask that only good quality and clean items are donated, including:
- Clothing & sleep wear– as new condition. All clothing must be freshly laundered
- Baby carriers
- Baby towels and wraps
- Pram accessories
- Shoes – near new condition
- Sterilisers – microwave not electric
- Toiletries – new or unopened (babies, children & adults)
The MMS donation drive will focus on small items (above examples – see complete list on posters around school).
If you have any large items such as cots, prams, high chairs, car restraints etc, parents are asked to take them directly to St Kilda Mums (2-4 Vale Street, St Kilda), or contact Melissa Schraner (0408 180 343) to arrange. These large items are always in high demand, however due to logistics we aren’t able to collect these at school.
Large donation bags/boxes will be located at both campuses. All donations will be cleared out daily.
Posters are on display outside classrooms highlighting the donations we are seeking.
