The NCCD (National Consistent Collection of Data) is an annual initiative that collects information about Australian school students with disability who receive adjustments to enable them to access and participate in education like other students.
The data supports teachers, principals, education authorities and governments to better support students with disability at school. The NCCD also encourages schools to review their learning and support systems and processes and so continually improve education outcomes for all students.
The data informs funding and work by schools and ensures support for students with disability becomes routine in schools. It fosters a focus on the individual adjustments of each student with a disability and encourages open communication about student needs with schools, parents, guardians, carers and the community.
